As Jo Demmer, Andrea wrote a number of stage productions tackling social themes: child trafficking, malaria, gambling, safety, heart disease, family violence and expatriate life. These have been performed in Lagos, Nigeria, by Dance & Art Alive and STTR (Seeing Through the Arts), and in Texas, USA by The Woodlands Preparatory School.
Her school productions incorporate educational concepts. They allow for variation in the numbers of actors and to incorporate school performance groups such as cheer leading, dance and drama teams, and soloists.
- Don’t Hurt Me (2013) (STTR)
- Batonga (2012, 2015) (STTR)
- Christmas at my Place (2012) (Dance & Art Alive)
- The Perfect Dance (2011) (STTR)
- Take Heart (2011) (STTR)
- A Dangerous Game (2011) (Dance & Art Alive)
- Fire It Up! (2011) (The Woodlands Preparatory School)
- The Cup of Life (2010) (The Woodlands Preparatory School)
- Second Chances (2009) (Dance & Art Alive)
- Eye of the Tiger (2008) (Dance & Art Alive)
She has also developed:
- We’re Going Where?, a musical comedy following the adventures of three expatriate families in Canada, Papua New Guinea and Nigeria respectively.
- Athena’s Workshop. A young woman inherits a derelict theatre from her estranged grandparents, unaware it is home to a group of runaway children.
